Your 60-Day Changeover Challenge: What the Body Knows

Print
These past two weeks my body has been telling me to slow down and look inward – and I’m listening! More often than not, I’m going to sleep by 10:30 p.m. (which is not my default). I’m taking the time to cook food rather than resort to warm weather’s default salads. And I’ve started journaling again.

Not so long ago I might have ignored my body’s subtle signals and tried to override them in an effort to stay in summer mode. I feel less inclined than in years past to play evening tennis in 50-degree weather. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I just don’t feel pulled in that direction.

Instead, I’m quieting down to look at what I really want. It feels good. Like I’m in harmony and alignment with myself.

Does that mean everything is going perfectly? In a word: no. But I’m taking magnificent baby steps nearly every day and implementing what I’m learning (and I’m always learning!).

I believe that change is absolutely possible. It starts with knowing (or discovering) what you want, setting intentions, and creating an action plan comprised of those aforementioned tiny steps to reach your goal. There’s also a secret ingredient – a little something called self-compassion.

What does that look like? For instance, my intention is to start my days with a glass of warm water (with a squeeze of lemon) and then meditate before checking email. Today, I drank my water, did a cursory email check on my phone, and then turned on the Tennis Channel to see what was happening at the men’s World Tour Finals in London. After 20 minutes, I turned off the TV and meditated, only to be interrupted by my cats at minute 8. I re-situated myself after the feline hijinks and soldiered on.

There’s a quote I find helpful: “The perfect is the enemy of the good.” And contemplate this nugget: Pursue excellence, not perfection. Maybe, just maybe, finding your personal sweet spot will yield more dividends on your (self)-investment rather than aiming for the stars.

From my experience working with a coach, I know that having someone who’s in my corner bearing witness, providing support, and holding me accountable has given me courage when my belief has faltered. My coach reminds me to be patient and that I’m on my way. She champions me when I get down and helps me celebrate my victories, large and small.

It’s powerful stuff. That’s what I want for you and it’s why I’m offering the 60-Day Changeover Challenge. Rather than wait until December 31 to make resolutions (which, by the way, have a dismal success rate), I challenge you to join my 60-Day Changeover Challenge.

In our 60 days together, I will help you…
• Get crystal clear about what you want in 2016
• Create a vision for the year to help you achieve results
• Define values-based goals to support making your vision a reality
• Map out a clear action plan to get you where you want to go
• Identify any roadblocks getting in your way
• Define what internal resources you have to leverage
• Articulate your purpose for the year to help you stay on course
• Start taking actionable steps to get the most out of 2016

The 60-Day Changeover Challenge includes 8 45-minute 1:1 coaching sessions and a 60-Day Changeover Challenge workbook.

If you have a tendency to fall into the holiday “excuse time” trap, I would encourage you to sign up for a complimentary Holiday Doldrums Breakthrough Session. In this session we will explore where you are, where you want to be, and some strategies that you could use to bridge that gap over the next 60 days. I know you will walk away with great value.

After 30 minutes together, if it feels like it might be a good fit to work together to bridge that gap, we will spend a few extra minutes exploring those options. No matter what, you will gain some deep insights as well as ideas that will help you achieve your goals and maximize the next 60 days.

I hope we get the opportunity to connect in this deeper way.
